My Favorite Unmarried Woman

I watched An Unmarried Woman when I first moved to New York, immediately bought the DVD (for epic amounts of rewatching), and fell deeply in love with Jill Clayburgh. Janet Maslin wrote a real nice piece about her and how much adoration she inspired as a sort of accidental feminist in Paul Mazursky’s movie. You could even call Erica, the unmarried woman in An Unmarried Woman, a thinking woman’s Carrie Bradshaw. Or you could just call her wonderful.
